Overview
R-4 Insul-sheathing is a structural insulating panel. It is a laminated board; The first part of the panel: is a Low Density Fiberboard (14 to 16 lbs/cubic foot) referred to as «Sheathing» which can be described as rigid panel produced from non-toxic organic materials and natural wood fibres. Panels are asphalt coated for greater weather resistance and faces the outward of the building. Wood Fibre Sheathing panels have excellent water vapour permeability which allows interior water vapour to escape to the exterior and not be trapped within the wall cavity where it could cause damage. The second part of the panel: is a Type II insulating board and is fabricated from expandable polystyrene resin containing a flame retardant additive. The finished product consists of 98% air and 2% plastic. Steam is used to expand EPS granules forming closed cells that are fused, treated, aged and then cut to the desired shape size. Size & Thickness: 4'x9' / 11/16''.
